The Mardi Himal is located at the east of Modi Khola River, across the valley of Hiunchuli. The trail goes along the small paths through the rhododendron forest which leads to an unexpected change into the landscape of rough high mountains. This is where you will get the perfect and amazing views of Mardi Himal, Machhapuchre, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli. Mardi Himal trek is not considered as a physically challenging trek, so it would be easier for new trekkers to start. Untouched by much of modernization, this route is a unique experience offering you with glorious mountain views and a chance to endeavor into thick forests, mountain wilderness, and villages that hasn’t felt the full impact of tourism. Along the trail, further 3-4 hours climb leads you to Mardi Himal base camp where you will be brought to extravagant views of some of the world’s biggest and most beautiful peaks; Dhaulagiri (8167m), Mt. Annapurna (8091m), Annapurna II (7937m), Annapurna III (7555m), Annapurna IV (7525m), Annapurna South (7219m), Hiunchuli (6441m) and Machhapuchre (Fishtail Mountain) (6988m), etc. we camp every night of this trek allowing you to sleep under the stars and the watchful eyes of majestic Himalayas.
Outline Itinerary of Mardi Himal Trek
Day 01:Arrival in Kathmandu city (1,300m/4,264ft)
Day 02: Drive to Pokhara (827m/2,700ft): 6-7 hours
Day 03: Drive to Phedi and trek to Deurali (2100m/6,720ft): 30 minutes’ drive, 4-5 hours trek
Day 04: Deurali to forest camp (2,520m/8064ft): 6-7 hours
Day 05: Forest Camp to low camp (2970m/9504ft): 5-6 hours
Day 06: Low camp to high camp (3540m/11,328ft): 3-4 hours
Day 07: High camp to upper viewpoint (4250m/13600ft), return back to high camp: 2-3 hours
Day 08: High camp to Sidhing Village (1700m/5440ft): 6-7 hours
Day 09 Trek to Lumre, drive to Pokhara and fly to Kathmandu: 2-3 hours trek, 2 hours’ drive and 25 minutes flight
Day 10: Final departure
