About Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek in detail:

Ghorepani /Poon Hill Trek is a trek on the northern wall of Nepal’s famous Lake city Pokhara. The Poon hill Ghorepani trek is a very popular short trek to the Annapurna’s. The spectacular mountain scenery of whole Annapurna range and the beautiful ethnic Gurung villages demonstrate the popularity of Ghorepani Poon hill trekking. It is a relatively easy trek which includes walking along streams and forests also suitable for those who are looking for a few days close to nature and involves no high climbing. The trek can be done throughout the year accept for the month of monsoon it can be a bit risky. The Poon hill Ghorepani trek starts from Nayapul Crossing the suspension bridge over Modhi Khola River, after almost an hour drive from Pokhara. We pass through the typical middle hilly villages and the views of terrace farming enclosed by Machhapuchre. On the second day we walk mostly through woods before we reach Ghorepani Village base camp of the Poon hill. Next morning we make an early climb of an hour to the nearby Poon hill for the stunning view of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Fishtail and other famous mountains of the west region. The whole of Ghorepani is densely forested with rhododendron trees, the national flower of Nepal. Every spring it gives fantastic scenery to watch these red flowers blossom with the panorama of the high mountains on the skyline. From Ghorepani we move towards the beautiful Gurung village located on the lap of Annapurnas. This village is popular for its traditional houses, rich cultural values, great landscape and best hospitality. Walking down the numerous steps we move through Birethanti and catch our vehicle for Pokhara at Nayapul. During our whole trek we mountain lodges called tea house for our lodging and food.
